Talk by Brian Woodman — 5G Technology: Benefits vs Harm’s for Purbeck

5G FactsThe approval of 5G technology represents one of the most important decisions for Corfe in 2023.

Very few people understand 5G and its potential risk to public health and wildlife, largely due to the fact that radiation is invisible and goes unmonitored. This 30 minute presentation aims to inform and looks at the benefits and harm’s in store for residents and wildlife in Purbeck.

Brian Woodman – Personal Biography

Brian and his wife live in Kingston, near Corfe Castle. They moved to the Isle of Purbeck in 2020 but have spent a great deal of time in the area before then. As a young boy in the 1960’s Brian and his sister spent many summer holiday in Durdle Door and Lulworth, a story that is very common with most Purbeck folk.

Brian started his professional career as an engineer with BP Exploration and then spent over 40 years in the underwater technology industry designing and operating deepwater seabed systems that produce oil and gas. He has travelled and worked in many countries including North America, South East Asia, Africa, Newfoundland and Norway. Along with his family, he lived and worked in Perth, Western Australia for 5 years.

He has held many management, technical lead and senior engineering positions in oil companies and major contractors. He is particularly skilled at front end engineering and producing overall field development solutions. Since leaving the subsea oil business in 2013, he has focussed on design of property, including new house builds and conversions. Currently, he is busy with managing the development of his house in Kingston. He describes himself as actively retired and his technical focus is balanced with more leisure time spent outdoors and with his family.

Brian is a strong supporter of the natural environment, both land and sea, and understands its connection with maintaining good health and wellbeing. Purbeck and the coast is particularly important to him. Brian and his family source organic and free range meat, fish and vegetables whenever they can from local Dorset farms and suppliers. His ethos is to avoid processed foods and chemicals as much as possible. With his strong engineering background he is against polluting the land and oceans with plastics, chemicals and invisible enemies such as electro magnetic fields (EMF) and strong radio frequency radiation (RFR). We are starting to see the consequences of this manmade environment with declining health in people and nature.
