Visit to the Riding House at Wolfeton House
July 17, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
This is a nationally important early 16th century building in Charminster. The stone building was constructed to be a centre for ‘haute école’, the precision schooling of horses, and its upper floor was also used for archery. The building was acquired by the Wolfeton Riding Trust in 1997 and we will be shown around by a member of the trust.
We are expected at 11am for an 11:15am start. The visit should last about an hour and a half or so, and we anticipate being ready to leave at about 1pm.
Access to the second floor may be tricky for some. For further details and arrangements, please call Karen on 425049 or 07730 680579 so she will know who is coming, and who can provide help with transport, or who needs transport.
Those attending are asked to make a donation with a suggested minimum of £3 – this will be much appreciated.
