Local author and historian Islay Cooper will talk about her recently written book about Dunshay Manor, set in the heart of Purbeck. It's history dates back to medieval stone quarrying and the Norman conquest, and there are connections to art, medicine and aircraft development. Free to members, non members welcome, £2 entrance.

Moths and butterflies of California meadows

A guided walk of the flower meadows south of Swanage with a specialist from the Bournemouth Society of Natural Sciences, followed by refreshments in the flower garden of a quarryman's cottage. This event will either be held on the 8th or possibly 15th August.

A local buildings list for Swanage and local parishes

The Cyril Diver Project, Studland

David Brown will explain how the project, through the involvement of over 200 volunteers, has built up a detailed picture of the site's current ecological status and compares the findings with Captain Cyril Diver's  pioneering work from the 1930s. Free to members, non members welcome, £2 entrance.
