The Mary Rose project

Earlier this year the Society was approached by Purbeck Art Weeks with a request to assist with funding a trip for children from Swanage, St Mary’s, St George’s and Corfe Castle Primary schools who they were taking to visit the Mary Rose Museum on Wednesday April 5th. 84 children were due to go, and the aim was for all the children to be able to regardless of parental income. The Ancient Technology Centre visit this Saturday 15th July

This has been CANCELLED - unfortunately the centre have contacted us to say they've had to cancel all weekend visits for the time being due to staff shortages, so this event will not now be going ahead. We hope to rearrange this visit when the centre are able to take us, but in the meantime please note that this event will not now be going ahead as previously planned. Rediscovering Kingston Lacy

In January and February, only the ground floor space in the house is open for an exhibition, Rediscovering Kingston Lacy. The exhibition will display maps and surveys of the estate from the Bankes Archive. This is the first time these articles will be on display in the house.
