Mr Geard’s Victorian Picture Show – David Gerry
March 8 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Businessman Geard made his fortune from the manufacture of coloured printing inks at the end of the 19th century as a result of developments in printing, packaging and advertising. He recorded much through photography and built up a large collection of slides for projection, many of his family and friends.
David Gerry owns some 300 of these slides and will give a presentation about them and their subjects – they are an important record of characters and costumes from the second half of the 1800’s.
Free to members, non members welcome, £3 entrance.
